Wondering what options I have diff wise for my car, doesn't need to be mentally good for now as Its just for the occaisional skid the car is more of a daily than a drifter.Welder - don't really fancy one on this as its such a nice drive I don't fancy the skipping and cluncking and the highlighting of old worn out bushes etc you get from a welder.KAAZ - to expensive for nowIS200 Sport diff - are the torsens on these any good? I thought the torsen on my mx5 was excellent if they're as good on the IS200 then that'll do me fine, whats the going rate on them?RS200 Altezza - are they just the same as the sport diff or are they better?finally if the sport diff is good is it worth getting one from an auto? Do they have a better ratio?cheers chaps. I'm a big fan of welded but if you don't want welded you have 2 main options.First being an LSD, either kaaz, cusco, TRD, etc.Second being the Altezza VLSD, these are ok but they are weak, don't lock very well.

The other thing to point out is that the drive shaft output flanges are different, the IS200 has 4 bolts and the Altezza has 6, there's 2 ways round this, either fit Altezza driveshafts(I have a pair for sale) or remove the diff from the cases and swap the Altezza one onto your is200 case. Might be worth looking for an Altezza auto VLSD as the ratio is better.

You need to sell your IS200, buy an IS300 and have about 5 grand bare minimum to do everything properly. Best bet would be a crash damaged GS430 and swap everything in, ECU included then find some way of bodge wiring the auto ecu so it works with a manual. Click to expand.Didn't know about the mounts, never dealt with an IS before although I have been tempted to do an IS400 for a while.Gonna disagree on the wiring and the 500bhp though.The early 1uz doesn't have any of the Canbus or multiple immobilizer boxes that the later VVTI or 3uzfe engine do. Take longer as there is simply more to go though.As for the 500 bhp supercharged engines, that's built engines,not stock unopened.The standard supercharged kits out there take the 3uz to 350 ish bhp, the rods on the 3uzfe are skinny sintered rods which wont last past 400 bhp.

That was from Bullet systems in Oz as I was looking at charging an LS430 I had couple years back.These guys have done more work on the UZ family than 90% of the planet. Tbh i only had a quick scan through this thread but, in my opinion off the top of my head you don't need is300, you can do it for a hell of a lot less than 5k and if you can't afford an r154 there are a few cheaper w series boxes you could use, a w58 from jza80 is quite strong really and can be made stronger but will happily handle anything an n/a 1uz can through at it, its also got good drift ratios, one other thing is definately use the 4.0 non vvt lump, the top end is a lot stronger, and an handle boost better, if your that way inclined.:-) just my 2c.
